Pte. John Leonard Gapp

British Army 2nd Btn. Royal East Kent Regiment

from:Canterbury

John Gapp served as a Private from 1944-1948 with the 2nd Buffs, seeing service in the Far East including Sri-Lanka (Ceylon), India, Malaysia and Singapore where he performed guard duty at Changi Prison. John survived active service and returned home to his family.

I knew John from the care, I would listen to his stories of his time serving his country of which he was so proud, but also sad at the friends who did not return with him.
