PO. Richard Emrys "Taff" Davies
Royal Navy HMS Manchester
from:Fareham, Hants
My uncle Taff, Richard Davies was a very nice, quiet man. He was torpedoed in 1943 while serving as a Petty Officer Sick Berth Attendant. He left the Royal Navy in 1947 after 21 years, having reached the rank of Chief Petty Officer and recommended as Wardmaster. He became landlord of Wicor Mill public house, Portchester, but was not suited to civilian life, and committed suicide 19 September 1947.
