On 19th of April 1945, F/O Raymond McPhie (my father) was flying a Tempest V on a sweep covering Nordholz-Neuminster-Stade when his aircraft was hit by flak and had to make a forced landing in enemy territory. He was subsequently taken prisoner and interned in a PoW camp until the end of the war.
