Charles Longstaff joined the 6th York and Lancaster Regiment in 1940, and was deployed to North Africa in early Jan 1943. He was reported missing on 2nd of March 1943 and eventually arrived at Stalag 17a as a PoW, and released on 16th of May 1945.
