501154 John "Jack" Poolton Canadian Army Royal Regiment My father, John (Jack) Poolton was a Dieppe Veteran and spent nearly three years in Stalag VIIIB. He was a Canadian with the Royal Regiment of Canada. He wrote a book that tells a lot about what life was like in the camp. It is called "Destined to Survive" and is available online. I would welcome any comments or questions anyone has. I helped my dad write this book, and know quite a bit about what he and the other prisoners went through.
