James Epp was killed during an air raid when a German ME-109 fighter/bomber aircraft attacked and hit the Anglo Swiss Hotel in Bournemouth on the 6th of June 1942. He is buried in Bournemouth North Cemetery along with fellow RCAF wireless operators James Morgan and Norman Bailey.
