Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home.If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes.

Tel. John James Harrison HMS Dundonald (d.6th June 1944)
My Uncle John James Harrison, was in class 201 of at Royal Arthur. I believe it would have been taken in 1941 but I do not have a precise date. He was killed on D-Day and is buried just outside Caen in France.
PO. Victor Noel White HMS Copra
Victor White trained at HMS Royal Arthur as an Ordinary Telegrapher from 20/07/1943 to 12/08/1943. He then joined HMS Letchworth and was promoted to Wireman (LC) on 26/10/43. He joined HMS Copra on the 7th of November 1943 and was lent three times to HMS Dundonald. In June 1944 he was lent to LCT 1000 for the whole of the month and also served on the LCT in March, May, August and September 1945. He was released to shore in Class A on 23rd of April 1946.Phil White
SubLt. W. D. McFall HMS Dundonald (d.1st November 1944)
On the 10th of May 2018 I visited the Bergen op Zoom War Grave Cemetery and took some photos of the war graves, most of which were soldiers or airmen. However, I came across Sub Lt W D McFall and decided to seek out some further information about his ship HMS Dundonald.Peter Carter
Ord.Tel. Stanley Clark HMS Dundonald
Stanley Clark, my dad, was at HMS Royal Arthur in Class 19, from 12 October 1942 until 5 April 1943 training as a Telegraphist. He was 18 years old when he commenced his service.He was also on HMS Drake from 6th of April 1943 until 18th of April 1943 HMS Dundonald 2nd of April 1943 until 9th of April 1944 HMS Copra 10th of April 1944 until 14th of November 1945 and HMS Drake 15th of November 1945 until 20th of May 1946.

Able Sea. Leonard Wilby HMS Ganges
Leonard Wilby was my cherished late grandfather who voluntarily served from the age of 17 in the Royal Navy in WW2. Commissioned on Royal Navy vessels: HMS Ganges, Pembroke, Quebec, Copra and Dundonald at some point during the war. He was one of 10 siblings who, miraculously, all served during the war and who all lived to return home.April Richardson
