HMS Gannet / RAF Eglinton
RAF Eglinton situated near Lough Foyle seven miles north east of Londonderry in Northern Ireland. The base opened as an RAF station in 1941. In May 1943 the site became home to HMS Gannet, a Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm station.Today the site is the City of Derry Airport.

- No. 133 (Eagle) Squadron October 1941 - January 1942
- No. 134 Squadron January - March 1942
- No. 152 Squadron January - August 1942
- No. 41 Squadron September 1942
- No. 1847 Fleet Air Arm Squadron from May 1943.

Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home.If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes.

My father, Lawrence Oliver, served in WW2 and joined the Royal Navy on 12th October 1939. He was discharged with VG conduct on 3rd July 1946.Alan Oliver
